The results of a new, global microplastic study have a certain irony: bottled drinking water is often contaminated – possibly by the bottles themselves.
In advertising, bottled water is touted as a pure, healthy product. Consumers seem to like that. The sales figures speak a clear language: globally, the industry realizes almost 119 billion euros per year (147 billion US dollars). These figures could cloud a new study published by Orb Media with Deutsche Welle. Products from eleven manufacturers purchased at 17 locations in eight countries were investigated. Impurities were detected in 93 percent of the samples – sometimes in very different quantities.

“Water is a very important part of my life for me as an athlete and it improves my competition. My physical activities and exercising makes me to lose a lot of fluids through sweating, and those fluids need to be restored. Because of that I drink 4-5 liters of water every day, sometimes even more. Even those who do not exercise or do physical work, should drink lots of water, otherwise the body would not work properly. The reasons I use Vivatap® are: it’s easy to use; it purifies the water, improves the quality and gives fresher taste to the water. My machinery i.e. my body, is composed of water and I just can’t function without Vivatap®.” – Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesja
